Two or More Degrees of Savings

27 January 2014

5aThis past Saturday an Xcel Energy natural gas pipeline exploded, prompting Xcel Energy to ask customers to start conserving natural gas by turning down their heat to 60. Let this event be a reminder of the direct link between heating our homes, the extraction and burning of natural gas, and how it all affects the environment.

With the recent extreme cold weather our use of natural gas and other heating fuels like propane are at an all time high. Take this opportunity to help conserve resources and lower your carbon footprint by turning down your heat a few degrees. Your family might surprise themselves on how low they can keep the heat, and in turn, you may be surprised at how much lower your utility bill becomes.
