26 June 2013

BikerA main reason why the Twin Cities Metro is a great place to bike is because the number of bike paths. In just Minneapolis there are 92 miles of on street bike paths and 85 miles of off street bike paths (source). With those numbers chances are there is a path near you! When preparing for a commute into work or a ride around town, one of the most important things to know is where you are going! The following is a list of various maps and trail resources to help you find your way.

Hennepin county bike trail map: This map includes all of the on and off street bike trails in Hennepin County

Cyclopath: Interactive tool that gives you suggested bike routes that you can customize to your preferences. Like hills and bike paths? Give them a thumbs up and get more of them on your ride! I used this to find a better route when a couple streets were closed on my route, and so far I love it! You can even download the app to your phone so you can use it on the go.

St. Paul bike maps: Gives you a choice of a bike parking map, and bike commuting map.
