Impacts of New Fuel Efficiency Standards.

This August the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation announced that fuel efficiency standards will increase to 54.5 mpg by 2025. Currently,  transportation is about 36% of total CO2 emissions in Minnesota, most from individual cars and light trucks. As shown by this infographic from the PEW Charitable Trust , this new standard has the potential to greatly reduce CO2 emissions and the amount of money we spend on gas.
