Get a Grant to Promote Recycling, Reusing and Composting

12 April 2012

Community POWER (partners on waste education and reduction) grants through Rethink Recycling, the Twin Cities recycling and composting guide, are now accepting applications! Community POWER has over $180,000 to give away in grants that are focused on supporting non-environmental groups who want to educate and involve their community in recycling, reusing and composting more.

The purpose of the Community POWER program is to partner with non-profit organizations, such as community groups and schools, to reach individuals who are not currently aware of waste and toxicity reduction and recycling practices. Successful applicants will increase residential awareness of waste issues and engage participants in waste reduction activities, leading to long-term behavior change.

There are three levels of funding:

  • Mini-Grants of up to $5,000
  • Traditional Grants of up to $12,000
  • Ramsey County Education Grants of up to 12,000 that focus on educating business or private schools.
