Some inspiring biking motivation

22 February 2012

I saw this news story and I just had to share it will all of you. Robert Marchand of France just broke a record by being the first man in the 100+ age category to finish the 24.251 KM, (about 15 miles) race in an hour!  Reuters quotes him saying:

“I’m not playing at being a champion, I just wanted to do something for my 100th birthday.”

He’s pretty amazing right?!  Definitely made me want to go out for a ride!  This inspiring story along with the recent rise in gas prices into the $3.50 range should encourage you to ride your bike to work or an errand this week. And if you haven’t gotten into biking yet, Mr. Marchand shows us that its never too late to start!  Bike Walk Twin Cities has a great number of bike map resources to help you find your way around.
