Tis The Season For Holiday Lights!

21 November 2011

And tis the season for figuring out that all of your lights you bought last year don’t work…but do not fret! The Recycling Association of Minnesota offers an easy way to recycle your old holiday lights. There are several locations to drop off your old light strands (you will see a labeled collection bin). Also, by participating in this program you are helping employ over 200 individuals with developmental disabilities at vocational centers throughout Minnesota who dismantle the light strands so they can be properly recycled.

There are over 500 locations around Minnesota to drop off your lights. Use the convenient map RAM provides to find the one closest to you! The program runs from November 15th thru the end of January.  Help the program reach its goal of collecting over 200,000 pounds of lights this year! And after recycling your old lights buy LED holiday lights to save energy and avoid having to buy new ones next year.
