Minnesota Ranks 8th In Nation For Energy Efficiency

2 November 2011

Congratulations all you energy-savers, you helped Minnesota become the 8th most energy efficient state in 2011! In the American Council for Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) 5th annual Energy Efficiency Scorecard, Minnesota is highlighted for its energy savings in utilities and homes ( that’s you!). Our score increased 20% from last year to 33 out of 50 possible points. Though we are not perfect – some places the report highlighted for improvements are appliance efficiency standards, and transportation (public and vehicle) efficiency.

So here is to continuing to increase Minnesota’s Energy savings in 2012…good job everyone!

For more information on specific energy efficiency policies visit ACEEE’s article on Minnesota’s energy policy.
