Open Streets Minneapolis – Sunday June 12th

10 June 2011

Open Streets Mpls

Have you even been walking or biking down a busy street and wondered – “What would this look like without any cars?”  You’ll get a chance to see this Sunday in Minneapolis when 20 blocks of Lyndale are shut down for Open Streets Minneapolis!  From 10 am to 2pm on Lyndale between 22nd and 42nd street you’ll be able to walk, bike, roller skate, tricycle, tall bike, walk the dog, jog, sprint and dance in the street without any motorized transportation in the way.

In the past the street was the hub of the community—it was a place to shop, mingle, gossip, and play. Open Streets gives this back while promoting healthy activity and sustainable transportation. This is a great opportunity for everyone young and old to be active while engaging with neighbors and local businesses.

Sounds like a blast – see you there!
