North Minneapolis Tornado: How You Can Help

23 May 2011

Our hearts and thoughts are with folks in North Minneapolis today facing the devastation of their community by the tornado.  If you’re looking for ways to help, the City of Minneapolis is recommending donating to the American Red Cross – Twin Cities Area.  Urban Homeworks, a community development nonprofit, is also organizing volunteer clean-up through their Facebook page.  Let me know if you have any other resources for residents in North Minneapolis or those looking to help!

UPDATE:  The Southwest Minneapolis Patch also has information on ways to volunteer and donate to North Minneapolis.

UPDATE:  There’s a Facebook page for “North Minneapolis Post Tornado watch” with more info!

UPDATE: The Minneapolis Foundation has set up a North Minneapolis Recovery Fund on GiveMN.org  -and they’re providing a dollar-for-dollar match up to $100,000!
