Minnesota is #8 in Nation for Energy Efficiency

13 October 2010

According to the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, our great state of Minnesota is ranked eighth in the nation for energy efficiency – the only Midwest state to enter the top ten!  The Land of 10,000 Lakes is lauded for our long record of customer energy efficiency programs which have been available in the state for the better part of two decades (and spearheaded by the Center for Energy and Environment, might I add) as well as the Next Generation Energy Act of 2007 which set an energy saving goal for utilities of 1.5% of retail sales each year.  This is something we can really be proud of!  Watch out, #1 – we’re coming for ya.
