The Benefits – and Shortcomings – of LEDs

I think this video is a better example of how seriously HOT incandescents get than the benefits of LEDs.  On one hand, you can see just how much less heat is produced by the LED and how efficient it is.  However, it is also very clear in this video that most LED lights are directional, like spotlights – they don’t diffuse.  If you’re looking for cheaper lighting technology that doesn’t destroy precious chocolate bunnies, compact fluorescent light bulbs are a more cost-effective solution for now.

    Based on a comment during our Earth Day exhibit, there’s still a need for information as to where to find various types of CFLs , their types of light, the need for ways to determine(at the store) how the light will look when not under store lighting.
