Tweet-A-Watt in Action

The Minnesota Energy Challenge is all about web 2.0 – this blog is a great way to share the great information we get about energy efficiency and conservation, and now we have our super cool Twitter feed where you can stay connected!  If you’re really into Twitter and energy conservation, then this MAKE blog entry for the Core77 and Greener Gadgets design competition might actually rock your socks off.

It’s a Kill-a-Watt meter (used to measure the energy use of specific devices) modified with off-the-shelf hardware to tweet the daily kilowatt hours used to Twitter!  In other words, this nifty Tweet-a-Watt device will automatically tweet (or update your Twitter feed) at the end of the day and show how much energy you’re using. I’m adding that to my wishlist for next Christmas.
