You Could Use These Savings

2 October 2008

I found Lloyd Alter’s article on Treehugger, “Get Recession Ready: Seven Tips” fascinating and full of good advice.  What it was missing, however, was any information about energy efficiency and the real savings you can get by becoming energy smart.

There are lots of reasons to become more energy efficient, but now more than ever the economic reasons are becoming more influential.  The less energy you use, the less energy you pay for, and the more you and your family has to spend on more important things – like food, health care and your credit card bill. Simple actions like washing all clothing in cold water, turning down the thermostat two degrees and insulating switches and outlets on outside walls can help you save over $100 a year.

When you pledge to reduce your use with the Minnesota Energy Challenge, we show you the real-world savings of your actions.  Check out our website for more information on taking advantage of simple actions to save money and energy in your home.
