Convert the Smart Way

1 August 2008

I’m guessing that you may be one of the 99% of Americans who owns a television.  In that case, you may have heard also that in February 2009, the United States is changing the way that television is broadcast and switching over to digital-only.  This means that analog televisions without cable or satellite will no longer be able to pick up signals without a converter.

The good news?  You can purchase a digital-to-analog converter box, or a DTA, so you can still watch TV!

Some more good news?  You can get coupons from the government to help buy down the cost of these converter boxes!

The best news?  There is an energy efficient option!  Instead of adding yet another inefficient appliance to your home that wastes money and energy, get a snazzy EnergyStar rated DTA.  The wasteful DTAs could end up costing Americans over $270 MILLION annually, so don’t underestimate the power of a little action!
