I had the pleasure today to present to some seriously connected and active students who are part of YES! – the Youth Energy Summit, an initiative sponsored by the Southwest Initiative Foundation. Teams of 8-10 students from New London-Spicer, Willmar, Dawson-Boyd, MACCRAY, Milan, Montevideo, Canby, Benson, Redwood Falls, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg and Paynesville high schools are working with coaches and energy allies to address energy and global warming in their communities.

I had a great time presenting on carbon footprints, energy efficiency and the Minnesota Energy Challenge.  It’s encouraging to meet a big group of active, involved youth concerned about global warming.  I look forward to following their “co-opetition” and seeing what they come up with!

We really enjoyed your presentation at Granite Falls. Can the Willmar YES team get a MN Energy Challenge team posted on your website to keep track of savings?
