Happy America Recycles Day!

America Recycles Day

November 15th is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to helping Americans learn how to recycle properly and get connected with recycled products. Although recycling campaigns have been around for a while, there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to recycling in America. Recycling is a very important way we can take action to help reduce our impact on the environment: it saves money and energy, creates jobs, reduces the need for more landfills and helps us preserve our environment for future generations. If America’s recycling rate increased by 15%, it would save enough energy to provide electricity to 1.8 million Americans for an entire year.

In other words, today is a great day to go online to the National Recycling Coalition’s website and take their recycling pledge! I did it, it’s easy, informative and motivating. Check out their other great resources, like information on electronics recycling, local recycling events and tips for deeper involvement.
