Kill-A-Watt Meters in Arrowhead

18 October 2007

If you live in Lake of the Woods, Koochiching, St. Louis, Itasca, Carlton, Lake or Cook counties, good news – you have easy access to borrowing a Kill-a-Watt meter. Kill-a-Watt meters provide easy and instant feedback about the amount of energy your appliances are using. Plug the Kill-a-Watt into the wall, then plug your appliance into the meter and monitor the watts and more. It’s a good way to see how energy efficient your appliances really are and see how much energy you are using in your home.¬† Each meter costs around $40, but if you live in the Arrowhead region, you can check out a Kill-a-Watt meter from a local library to try out in your home. A list of cooperating libraries and links to the websites after the cut.

(And to those who don’t live in the Arrowhead, I’m working on compiling a list of Kill-a-Watt resources for you, too. Check back soon!)
