Electrifying Minnesota at the Bakken Museum
125 years ago, one of the nation’s first hydroelectric power plants came to life at St. Anthony Falls – and so began the history of electricity in Minnesota. The Bakken Museum recently unveiled their new Electrifying Minnesota exhibit which explains how our everyday lives are shaped by electrification through history. The exhibit includes hands-on activities, artifacts, photos, first-hand accounts and early film from the 1880s through the 1950s. It’s a fascinating exhibit, great for both kids and adults, and the Bakken is promoting the Minnesota Energy Challenge as a way to invest in the future of energy in Minnesota. It’s a perfect weekend adventure!
