Minnesotans Have Too Much Junk To Recycle

16 November 2007

I posted yesterday about the Great Minnesota Free E-Cycling event at the Mall of America taking household appliances, cell phones, etc. for free.  Unfortunately, The Star Tribune reports that the response to the event was so overwhelming that Materials Processing Corp was forced to cancel the rest of the collection times this weekend.  In the first 19 hours that items were being taken they collected more than 1 million pounds of materials, filling more than 86 trucks.  Looks like people had been saving up for this event.  We’ll keep our eyes open for the next opportunity!
